Students who are noncompliant with the rules and expectations of installing/deleting apps, might find they don't have access to some or all apps.
Missing Chrome and Safari
All iPads are equipped with a security app provided by Cisco, which allows us to filter network traffic appropriately. If this app is deleted, Chrome and Safari will disappear and the student will not be able to browse the web.
To fix:
- Go to Self Service and reinstall Cisco Security Connector.
- The iPad will re-enable Safari and Chrome automatically once the app is reinstalled.
iPad only has Setting App
Students are not permitted to install unmanaged apps or VPNs on their iPad. If a student 'jailbreaks' an iPad by bypassing the districts mobile device management software to install unmanaged apps or VPNs, ALL of the iPad apps (with the exception of the settings app) will disappear.
To fix:
- School building staff needs to submit a help ticket with Technology Services to get this issue fixed.
