Set Up Module Requirements in Canvas

Modules are a great way to organize content based on units and help students go through content in a particular order and with certain requirements.

Teachers

Please watch this video for a quick teacher tutorial on how to set progression in a module unit.  By setting requirements you as the instructor can control the sequencing and pacing of assignments.

1. Click on the three-dot menu for the Module you want to set requirements up for.
2. Click Edit.
3. Here, you can optionally lock a Module to a specific date.
4. To add a requirement, click on + Requirement.
5. Decide whether students must complete all requirements or one option.
6. Select assignments and actions required to complete the module.

Students

This video will show you what complete all items means, when you must score a specific score, how to mark an assignment as done and other requirements used in modules to help you navigate through and pace yourself.
